Shadow of War

Solo, Self-initiated,  Dutch National Military Museum Soesterberg, The Netherlands '26

I don’t think a military museum should consist of polished-up instruments of war. While I understand that armed forces have a role to play in the world we live in, I don’t feel that the Dutch National Military Museum conveys the sense of horror that, in my view, it should.

How much does a tank like this cost? What else could we do with that money? And how many lives can be ended by a single shell?

I see too little acknowledgement that war is a horrific, all-destructive measure of absolute last resort for resolving conflict. Not to mention all the war toys for sale in the museum gift shop.
